The Department of Homeland Security has claimed in internally circulated memos that it has regulatory or statutory authority to seek out and ask social media companies to censor accounts and individuals it has deemed are spreading misinformation.

In the past decade, the growth of the Internet and social media has brought with it a dramatic uptick in populist sentiment.

Legacy institutions have declared war against populism, referring to its claims as “misinformation” or “disinformation” and calling on the government or government-adjacent actors (herein referred to as “the censors”) to clamp down on such claims as they spread across the Internet like wildfire.

A number of Maine’s weekly and daily papers have been bought by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

According to Semafor, Soros and medical device billionaire philanthropist Hansjorg Wyss played a central role in this purchase, giving millions to the National Trust for Local News.

Author and New York Times opinion columnist David Brooks shared a photo of food and a drink, noting that the meal he purchased at an airport cost him a whopping $78.

"This meal just cost me $78 at Newark Airport. This is why Americans think the economy is terrible," Brooks wrote.

While he shared a photo, Brooks did not mention what restaurant he had ordered the meal from. His post has amassed more than 29 million views on X so far.

Billionaire and X, formerly known as Twitter, owner Elon Musk on Thursday accused news outlets of ignoring the crisis along the southern border because they were "instructed" not to cover it. 

FOX News national correspondent Bill Melugin posted on social media how local news networks are covering the migrant crisis more than other national news networks.
