The Israeli army has published a harrowing photo from its recent assault on Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital, showing doctors, journalists and other civilians rounded up and kneeling with their hands restrained behind their backs.

Ramy Abdu, Chairman of human rights group Euro-Med, shared the image on X , identifying at least two of the detained men.

The forced displacement of nearly two million Palestinians and large-scale destruction of civilian property and infrastructure in Gaza highlights Israel's "appalling record" of displacement, Amnesty International said on Wednesday.

It also shows Israel's refusal to respect Palestinians' right of return for the past 76 years.

This afternoon, at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, lawyers for South Africa took another crack at obtaining a court-ordered halt to Israel’s military assault on Rafah and its entire genocidal war on Gaza.

The situation couldn’t be more urgent, South Africa stated in its May 10 application to the top UN court, triggering two days of hearings, that began today.

Israel will present counter arguments tomorrow. 

The Nakba – the dispossession of Palestine during, before and after the declaration of Israel as a state in May 1948 – is an ongoing process, and the genocide underway in Gaza represents an escalation of colonial violence.

So said three prominent Palestinian human rights groups – Al-Haq, Al Mezan and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights – on Wednesday.
